Refund & Billing Policy
Last updated: draft, pending legal review
This policy explains how subscription billing, cancellation, and refunds work for Pro and Ultra plans. It supplements the Terms of Service.
1. Billing cycle
Paid tiers are billed monthly from the date you first subscribe. If auto-renew is enabled, the next month is charged automatically to your saved payment method on your renewal date.
2. Cancellation
You can turn off auto-renew at any time from your billing settings. Your plan remains active with full access until the end of the period you already paid for, then reverts to Free — you are not charged again after cancelling.
Cancelling does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless required by law in your jurisdiction (for example, a statutory cooling-off period shortly after purchase).
3. Failed renewal payments
If a renewal charge fails, we retry automatically over a short grace period (up to four attempts across 24 hours) before your plan reverts to Free. Your access is not interrupted during the grace period.
If the saved card is permanently declined (for example, expired or reported lost), we may end the grace period early and ask you to add a new payment method to resume auto-renew.
4. Refunds
We will refund a charge that was made in error, charged twice for the same period, or made after you had already cancelled. Contact us with the payment date and amount and we will investigate.
Outside of billing errors, subscription fees are generally non-refundable for the remainder of a paid period once the service has been used, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
5. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge directly with your bank instead of contacting us first, we may suspend the associated account while the dispute is resolved.
6. Price changes
If we change subscription pricing, the new price applies starting from your next renewal after the change, and we will show the new price before it is charged.
